Karin Markerink graduated with distinction from her studies in Dutch Law and her Masters in Planning Law at the University of Amsterdam. Between 2009 and 2016, Karin worked as a planning lawyer for Rho Adviseurs, a spatial planning consultancy.
Karin has been a lawyer at Gijs Heutink Advocaten since February 2016. She advises and litigates on matters of planning law and administrative law, with a particular specialisation in environmental law and spatial planning law. In her work, Karin focuses on supporting inner-city redevelopments and the development, transformation and restructuring of commercial premises and rural areas. Karin regularly publishes on these subjects.
Karin is a member of the Dutch Association for Environmental Law (Vereniging voor Milieurecht, VMR) and the Jong Leefomgeving network, which promotes the physical environment.
